Search for owners of missing ‘Southport 1946’ photograph continues…

An appeal has been made to find the rightful owners of a missing photograph which was taken in Southport in 1946.

Twitter user @Clarke1nil came across the photograph after purchasing a CD from a charity shop in the Lake District earlier this year and took to twitter to try and find the family it belongs to.

The photograph showing a couple on Southport beach went viral, receiving over 1,800 retweets in its first few days since being posted.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to match the 75 year-old photograph to its original owners.

Speculation has been made as to whether the photo is husband and wife or father and daughter due to the blurry quality of the image.

Do you recognise the pair? If so, get in contact with @Clarke1nil on twitter or email @thewelcomesouthport@gmail.com.
